PHPP for BANES

Bath & North East Somerset Council’s new Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) sets ambitious targets for energy performance for new residential and non-residential schemes. Each application type requires a different methodology to achieve policies SCR 6/ 7/ 8.

As a trusted energy tool, the Passive House Standard’s PHPP software is the preferred energy modelling method for domestic schemes. SAP can also be used in some circumstances but not all. SBEM is the energy tool for larger commercial projects.

To help plan towards your application, we have produced a flow chart to show our interpretation of the routes to compliance, with the outputs that will be mandatory for registering each new application.
